MEAN* has designed five residential projects, among them a courtyard house in AlUla with a wind-catching stair tower and a mountain retreat on Jebel Jais. All five are proposals.
- Meta-Modular
Meta-Modular is a proposed housing system for Dubai: courtyard homes with wind towers, dry assembly and 3D-printed parts, made to grow as families change.
- Cosmos House
Cosmos House is a proposed family home in AlUla: a circular plan around a courtyard, latticed windows, a wind-catching stair tower and 3D-printed mud walls.
- 3D Printed Majlis
A proposed modular majlis, the reception space of the Emirati home, in three options designed for concrete 3D printing on site in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- Co-Cross
Co-Cross, winner of USM’s 2020 Live-Work competition, is a proposed live-work unit in Dubai designed with USM furniture, with partitions in place of rooms.
- House 00
House 00 is a proposed retreat on Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah: a sheltered courtyard, limestone walls, long mountain views and a separate guest wing.
